Why are boys' names ending in 'den' so popular now?

Why are boys' names ending in 'den' so popular now?
Like someone else said, I think Jayden and Brayden are popular because of Britney Spears. Aiden is popular because of Sex and the City, they said once the Aiden character started out on the show the name jumped up in popularity. People are just taking these names and playing off them to try and make them different.
Reply:Aiden shot to popularity after a character on Sex and the City. It's a traditional Irish name but was very uncommon before that character was introduced.





Jaden didn't even exist before Will Smith gave it to his son. They came up with the name as a way to use Jada in his name. Then became even more popular after Britney





Hayden also became popular after that actor appeared in the Star Wars movies, Hayden Christiansen.





The others are people just trying to be "creative" by changing the first letter - like people naming their daughter Addison rather than Madison, though both are now in the Top 10 names.
Reply:Because they started out a couple years ago sounding fresh and new. People started using them and for some reason some people still think they are fresh and new and keep using. Plus, there are so many variations of the name spelling and sound wise.





I am sick to death of this trend. I don't mind Aidan but I wouldn't mind seeing all the other -aden names so including all the various spellings of Aidan.

Aidan is a legitimate, classic Irish name. All the rhyming ones, however, are just trendy, made-up names.
Reply:I've never heard of any expect for Hayden. And actually that's a gender netural name. I want to name my daughter(When I do have kids)Hayden.
Reply:I'm not sure, i was going to name my son Kaiden but then i found out how popular the name was so I went with Kain so he is unique and i love the name!
Reply:The only one I like is Landen...best boy name ever IMO. I don't know why Aiden and Brayden are popular...and I like Aidyn for a girl better.
