We are really having trouble finding a suitable name that we agree on. We are not keen on the new names that sound weak like Braden... We like strong, traditional names mostly... however it is hard to find one that is not ugly or overly common... We are seriously running out of time.
Can you give me some strong boys names, names that would suit a grown man?
I love the name Rafe, it is old fashioned but it is also sexy and strong sounding.
Reply:I live in Senegal and a few strong names here are Alioune, Abdul, Abdoulaye. Or perhaps a name from India Rishab, Paras, Ankush. Or perhaps a French name, Ludovic, or any European name such as; Stephan, Louis (sounds like Louie)..well those are just some names that aren't the typical everyday American name I hope this helps :]

Reply:Andrew is a strong manly name. It also means manly from its Greek origins.
Some of the shortened names of original names are also strong - names like Nate, Lew, Brad. (as opposed to Nathaniell, Llewyeln or Bradley which are not strong manly names)
I also like James and Robert.
Reply:Thomas..... this is my sons name it fits him perfect......... he is an A+ student and extremely handsome

Reply:I found the name "Stirling" especially "tough"
Luke is tough in some cases. So is Jackson.
But I'll go with Stirling because it just sounds kick-***
Reply:I think Jack is a strong name and i always imagine Ben to be a strong man.
Reply:In picking a name for a boy it is great to go "classic and manly", especially with a name that sounds a little refined, but still has a great "nickname" or "shortened" name. Matthew becomes Matt, Timothy becomes Tim, James becomes Jim, and they still sound okay.
You probably would want to stay away from Irish names (which I happen to love) because they do have a "lilty" sound to them, although I think names like Connor and Duncan are pretty masculine, there is no way to shorten those names.
I have to say it is nice to see a parent like myself who takes into consideration that their "baby" will be 60 years old one day and may not want to be saddled with a "cutesy" name.
In my family we have a James, a Charles, a Matthew, a couple of Johns, a Gregory, a Christopher, a William, a Michael, a David, a Jacob and a Joshua.
You can always use the middle name for the "creative" side of baby naming.
Good luck and congratulations on your bundle of joy.
