How popular are these two boys names?

Have you noticed a lot of babies or little boys named Jackson or Gavin? These are my 2 favorite boys names, but I am getting the sense that they are becoming way too common. What do you think?

No, I actually have never met a Jackson or a Gavin! I've heard the names before, but they do not seem common for me! And even if they are getting too common for you, if they are your favorite it shouldn't matter...people are still naming their kids "John" and that name is really really common and original.
Reply:Jackson (or Jaxon) is VERY popular right now. Gavin I have also heard is becoming more and more used.


They are both cute names, I agree but I wouldnt do Jackson just cuz he'll have 5 other ppl in his class with that name. Gavin prob isnt TOO overused yet

I like both names...Gavin Jackson was on my boy names list untill my cousin had a boy and named him Jackson Wyatt!

i once knew a Jackson that spelled it Jaxyn.


and Gavin you could do Gaven.


or something else.

Gavin too. And they are growing more and more popular. They're like top 40 now.

Reply:I know two people with boys under 3 named Jackson. The only Gavin I know is in his 40s, but it's become more popular for kids (at least in the UK) because of the show "Gavin %26amp; Stacey"

Reply:Gavin is pretty popular, Jackson too. But they're nowhere near as common as Aidan, Jayden, etc. so I think if you like them then why not use them?
Reply:Their getting pretty popular cause they've been used on tv shows. But if you like them, go ahead and use them. At least their not horrible names like Tirgo or Blake (for a girl!?)
